Croxton Lodge Further Developed

Castlebeck is proud to announce further development of its Graded Rehabilitation support in the East Midlands allowing more people to move on successfully from hospital services.

Dalby, the Graded Rehabilitation Annexe at Croxton Lodge in Melton Mowbray, now offers support for nine people “ four women and five men. It offers a tailored and individual support package for adults

with a learning disability, who are ready to move on from hospital assessment & treatment services.

The emphasis at the step-down service remains on promoting independent living and the people living at Dalby are encouraged and enabled to access the local community regularly including undertaking

voluntary work and attending college.

The focus of Dalby for the nine people living there remains on building people’s skills to move on into even more independent living. All are encouraged to take responsibility for their own lives in practical ways such as cooking, cleaning, laundry and shopping. A dedicated staff team supports service users at Dalby 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Dalby offers the perfect step down service for those people ready to move on to more independent living, or who may be currently awaiting discharge from hospitals, or stepping down from low secure services.

Croxton Lodge offers tailor-made support for people with learning

disabilities and complex needs, who challenge services. The core

support is provided for men and women with high-end challenging

behaviours and complex needs, including those liable to be

detained under the Mental Health Act 1983 (as amended 2007).

Saltby “ provides 13 places for people with a learning disability who

experience social and communication difficulties. This area is on the first floor of the building and has been developed for those with more severe developmental and communication problems.

The focus of Saltby is for a communication-rich, structured, nurturing environment which helps to develop communication skills through a range of means. An assessment and intervention unit providing an acute service, Croxton Lodge provides smaller self-contained living areas which are flexible and can be adapted to group and individual needs.

Stonesby “ provides 13 places for people with a learning disability,

challenging behaviours and associated mental illness and/or other complex needs.

On the ground floor this environment offers more independent living and community facing vocational activities. It centres on self-care skills, personal responsibility and appropriate incentivisation.

All bedrooms are en-suite and people are encouraged to individualise their own rooms. Living areas are welcoming and include homely lounges, dining rooms and landscaped gardens. A purpose-designed day therapy suite provides a base for our 24.7 system.

‘24.7’ is Castlebeck’s system of support to enable people to structure their time; build relationships and establish a balance between work, self care and leisure. Individual plans are developed

with each person to include structured evening and weekend activity as well as less structured time.

Croxton Lodge is in the heart of the Leicestershire market town of Melton Mowbray, an ideal location to access a range of local ommunity facilities, a key feature of the rehabilitation care

pathway.
