Castlebeck CentresCastlebeck has specialist facilities throughout the UK. A full list of facilities is available (click here). Assessment, treatment and rehabilitation are offered through different levels of care; each with shared principles, each offering a different profile of care. Typically users can step between the levels of care and support as they demonstrate progress with Castlebeck. Service users can access our services at any level of care, but typically the entry point will be into our Assessment and Treatment units (ATUs). These offer a safe and structured environment for the assessment, stabilisation and initiation of treatment of individuals with acute challenging behaviour and complex needs, who cannot, at this point in time, have these needs met in other less structured settings. The Treatment and Rehabilitation centres (TRCs) provide the next level of care. Their purpose is to assist service users in making the transition from more intense treatment environments, to a more community based provision, at a pace consistent with each individual’s needs and wishes; and their potential for progress. Our Graded Rehabilitation Annexes (GRAs) are unique to Castlebeck. These facilities are linked on the same site as our Treatment and Rehabilitation Centres (TRCs) and typically provide a smaller living model for between two and six individuals with a focus on independence and life skills. The Graded Rehabilitation Annexes (GRAs) accommodates the varying pace of progress of clients and enables the provision of rehabilitation focused work to facilitate their adjustment to more independent living in future, but with the back-up and support of the main centre staff, should they require it. Our Residential homes offer near-normative living environments for those whose frequency, duration and intensity of challenging behaviours enable them to live in a small, community-based environment. Due to the complexity of need and the severity of the challenging behaviours presented by those referred to the service, levels of support offered within each type of treatment setting are high.
