Where we Are - Scotland
Trinity House
With a full activity programme, enthusiastic residents and a homely environment, Trinity House in Lockerbie, Dumfriesshire, provides a warm and welcoming home for people with learning disabilities and behaviours that challenge.
Trinity House is a community rehabilitation unit which has 13 places for adults with learning disabilities who enjoy many activities as part of their person-centred and individual care plan.
These include musical workshops, art and crafts, baking and cooking and physical activities such as athletics, swimming and football.
A garden, well-maintained by residents, provides both a hobby and produce for the kitchens, which recently won a Food Hygiene Standards award.
Trinity is very much part of the local community, and its residents regularly play in local sports teams and use local facilities such as the college.
To allow residents to continue on their care pathway, Trinity House also offers a two-bedroom Graded Rehabilitation Annexe, which operates as a step down unit, giving the opportunity for service users to experience more independent living.
