The Gables
Castlebeck, in partnership with North Lincolnshire Council, has undertaken a joint venture to open a new 12 person service for people with learning disabilities. The service is located in the Brumby area of Scunthorpe. The focus of the service is to enable local councils (including neighbouring authorities) to support individuals to return closer to home and to enable links with families and friends to be developed.
There are ten bedrooms, as well as two self-contained flats. Residents at the home are supported in developing life skills to enable them to live more independent lives and access the local community facilities.
A number of the individuals living at The Gables have previously lived in Independent Hospital provision, often significant distances away from their home area.
The team at The Gables work closely with North Lincolnshire and other councils to ensure that the individuals supported in the service achieve their desired outcomes.
