Oaklands

Oaklands in Hexham is the first Lifespan service from Castlebeck. It provides support for women and men who challenge services and who may also have additional needs.

Those needs might include long term mental health problems, developmental disorders (including people who are on the autistic spectrum) and a lower response rate to treatment, where a “slow stream” service would be more appropriate.

It also supports those who might need a higher level of specific support than could be provided in other rehabilitation services, people who become vulnerable due to increasing age and frailty or who experience reduced mobility or who have physical health problems which need extra medical and nursing input.

There are 25 bedrooms at Oaklands, all en-suite. Five of these are on the ground floor, making them accessible to those with physical disabilities.
