Cedar Vale
Cedar Vale is an independent hospital in Nottingham which provides care and support specifically for adults on the autistic spectrum.
This acute service offers assessment and intervention for those on the autistic spectrum who also have a learning disability and who additionally may have other have complex needs and challenging behaviour.
18 people live at Cedar Vale, which is in East Bridgford, Nottingham. It offers a calm and tranquil environment, specifically tailored to its purpose.
Each person has their own person-centred plan, and is encouraged and supported to follow a carefully considered care pathway.
Cedar Vale provides a safe and structured environment for the delivery of dedicated support for people with autistic spectrum disorders. This includes:
- 24-hour access to Autism practitioners and specialist nursing staff
- Psychiatry, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Speech & Language Therapy
- Communications co-ordinators who use alternative communications techniques (e.g. TEACCH) and Pictorial systems (e.g. PECs)
Castlebecks 24.7 day therapy programme provides a system of support to enable people to structure their time; build relationships and establish a balance between work, self care and leisure. Individual plans are developed with each person to include structured activity with a particular focus on sensory issues, social groups – interaction/communication, and diet/exercise.
