Briar Court Annexe

Briar Court in Hartlepool shows how Castlebeck’s ethos of care pathways is effective and allows people to progress at their own pace.

The five women who live in the Graded Rehabilitation Annexe at Briar Court live as independent lives as possible, having progressed along their own particular care pathways.

59 Briar Court is an 11-bedroom treatment and rehabilitation centre, offering care and support in a stable, structured and therapeutic environment. It allows people the chance to progress to more community-based living.

Next door, at 57, there is one of Castlebeck’s unique Graded Rehabilitation Annexes, which allows the five service users who live there to progress towards independent living at their own pace, while support from the staff of the main Briar Court building is always available. The five current residents at 57 all formerly lived in Briar Court, and in some cases in more acute Castlebeck services in the past – a clear example of moving through their own care pathway.

59 Briar Court provides people with the chance to progress to more community-based living as part of their ongoing rehabilitation, at their own pace. It can also provide more structured care for those whose needs are not matched by residential services or by living at home with family, but who don’t need hospital treatment.

Both 57 and 59 Briar Court have a warm, friendly and homely feel. Staff are highly trained, with many having worked at Briar Court for many years.
