Do you have any vacancies? Our bed situation is constantly changing. Please telephone the Admissions Secretary on 01325 252001, or our Group Development Manager, David Maynard, on 07795 211796, to enquire about the latest position. Do you maintain contact with referrers during an admission? Yes, we hold regular case conferences, case reviews, and of course comply with the requirements of the Care Programme Approach and Section 117 of the Mental Health Act (England and Wales) where appropriate. We encourage and welcome referrer participation. Referrers are also integral to our customer satisfaction process, which is based around case reviews. How do I refer? You can telephone the Admissions Secretary on 01325 252001, or write to us. We will require a patient history, including any relevant psychiatric reports. We may come back and ask for further details or for clarification on some points. Is there a cost for the assessment? Yes, this is determined by the location of the individual to be assessed. What happens next? You will receive a full assessment report, including recommendations for treatment. If we think we can help the individual, we will offer admission for up to 12 weeks for detailed assessment. During that time we stay in constant touch with the referrer(s), and aim to give an early indication of our expectations for continuing treatment. At 10-12 weeks a multidisciplinary review will make recommendations for further treatment. What is the assessment process? We undertake an initial screening from the written information you send us. We will let you know immediately if we don’t think we can assist. We will then contact you to make a suitable appointment for us to undertake an assessment visit. What is the average length of stay? Length of stay is determined primarily by the needs and wishes of the individual, and the willingness of referrers to continue with a placement. Castlebeck has a strong reputation for its commitment to individuals who have a history of failed placements, and who need a sustained period of consistency and structure. Our goal is always to work in partnership with the individual, their relatives, and referrers, to achieve the best outcomes for the individual. Where do service users go after they have been with Castlebeck? Often they return to local services. Such moves are best planned with our care team so as to facilitate a smooth transition. We offer a continuum of services, and individuals have the opportunity to progress through our services as they improve, and with the co-operation of the referring agency. Some individuals stay with Castlebeck for several years. In all cases it is a matter of choice for the individual, balanced with the views of the care team and the referring agency. Would it be possible to arrange a visit to one of your homes with some of my colleagues in order for us to get a better idea of what you have to offer? As we all know, getting the right placement can be hard and time consuming, we therefore welcome visits from fellow professionals who do not know of our full services. We can even arrange for transport and lunch if that makes things easier. If you would like to arrange a visit please contact David Maynard, Group Development Manager on 07795 211796 or Rebecca Hill, Marketing Operations Manager on 07971 538981 |
